BreezeACCESS II BreezeACCESS II is BreezeCOM's brand new, state-of-the-art, IP-based broadband wireless access solution that provides Internet Service Providers (ISPs) with the ability to deliver 21st century high-speed Internet access to their customers. BreezeACCESS II products bring carrier class reliability, manageability and ease of installation to the unlicensed bands so popular with Internet Service Providers. BreezeACCESS II operates in the unlicensed 2.4 GHz ISM band. Many countries have opened frequencies in the unlicensed 2.4 GHz ISM band, which allows for the use of the bandwidth without the expense of buying or applying for licenses. This enables Internet service providers to quickly enter and compete in the market for high speed Internet access at relatively low cost. BreezeACCESS II offers an exceptionally low "first subscriber" infrastructure cost making it the ideal solution for new operators and ISPs who are building their subscriber bases. BreezeACCESS II New Carrier Class Base Station Architecture The BreezeACCESS II products include, for the base station, a service provider grade 19 rack mounted chassis with dual, redundant power supplies. This chassis can house up to six access unit cards, along with a redundant spare, which connect to an outdoor unit via an intermediate frequency interface cable. BreezeACCESS II A Selection of CPE Devices The BreezeACCESS II CPE devices include self-installable, indoor subscriber units, as well as a higher power and range, indoor-outdoor configuration. The latter architecture includes an indoor unit with data and management interfaces, as well as an outdoor unit designed for use in extreme environmental conditions. The two units are connected via an interface that provides management and data communications at an intermediate frequency. The outdoor unit either includes an antenna, or has the ability to connect to an external antenna. BreezeACCESS II A Unique Offering The new BreezeACCESS II product line is the only such carrier class Broadband Wireless Access offering in the unlicensed 2.4GHz ISM band. Products in this frequency band are typically modified Wireless LAN products, which have been adapted for limited ISP deployment. The new rack mount chassis basestation brings carrier class reliability and availability to the exploding Wireless ISP market. The indoor/outdoor subscriber unit is ideal for deployment where high power and sensitivity are critical. And the indoor-only subscriber units make plug and play installation possible, with no truck roll required. All in all, this is a unique product line for the unlicensed operator.
