hotels in JurmalaThe Nokia P020 Access Controller together with the Nokia P030 Mobility Services Manager are the core components of the Nokia Public Access Zone solution. The Nokia P020 Access Controller is a gateway between the LAN Access Zone and the Internet. Key features include web authentication for LAN access users, efficient routing and the Nokia Voyager web-browser based node manage-ment. The product is built on a Plug & Play platform and is easy to install. Factory testing and configuration of pre-installed elements makes access to the Internet available with minor configurations.

Secure Access

The Nokia P020 Access Controller acts as a gateway between clients attached to a Public Access Zone and the Internet. The clients can either be connected over Wireless or fixed LAN. When a client connects to the LAN it receives an IP address from the DHCP server in the Nokia P020 Access Controller. Only authorized users are allowed to go through to the Internet; unauthorized clients are directed to authenticate first. The WWW-based authentication is secured by SSL. The Nokia P020 Access Controller can be configured with a set of IP addresses (white list) which are open for everyone. As a result, free services can be created beyond the Nokia P020 Access Controller. It is also possible to define a set of IP addresses (black list) that are never open.

Collecting Accounting Data

The Nokia P020 Access Controller is responsi-ble for the accounting of incurred access time. Accounting begins when the client is authenti-cated and ends when the client logs off (either manually, by the Nokia P020 Access Controller because of some quota exceeded or because the client host disappeared). Both authentica-tion and the accounting service are based on a RADIUS server (for example, the Nokia P030 Mobility Services Manager).

Supports Rate Shaping

The Nokia P020 Access Controller can assign logged-in users to one of four defined Quality-of- Service classes. The class defines the maximum transfer rate in kb/s that the user can consume from the external interface link. Up to three named classes can be defined; the fourth is a default class.

Rapid Deployment

With a design focus on easing the purchasing, installation, configuration, and management of your network access control, Nokia provides all software, peripherals, and interfaces in one easy-to-manage package. The small size of the Nokia P020 Access Controller just one rack unit helps to conserve space in the equipment room, making it an ideal choice for installation. It is well suited for both small office and large-scale deployment.

Easy Network Management

With Nokia Network Voyager, you can manage, monitor, and configure the Nokia P020 Access Controller from any authorized location within the network. The Nokia P020 Access Controller also comes pre-installed (in US only) with a SSH Server.

World-Class Routing

Designed to interoperate with all standards-based routers, the Nokia P020 Access Controller supports the comprehensive suite of IP routing functions and protocols: RIPv1/v2, IGRP (optional), OSPF, BGP4 (optional), DVMRP, DHCP and VRRP. The Nokia P020 Access Controller comes equipped with three standard 10/100Mbps Ethernet/Fast Ethernet ports and a CompactPCI (cPCI) slot that supports your choice of the following network interface cards: Single-port V.35 Serial, cSingle-port X.21 Serial and Single-port T1 with integrated CSU/DSU.
